Which computer-based ACCA exams are available?

Computer-based exams are available for the first seven Foundation-level exams. These are the exams required for the Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (FA1,MA1); the Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (FA2, MA2); and the Diploma in Accounting and Business (FAB, FMA and FFA). These exams are also required for the Certified Accounting Technician qualification.

Computer-based exams (English and Global) are also available for the Accountant in Business (AB,) Management Accounting (MA,) Financial Acounting (FA) and Corporate & Business Law (LW) exams of the ACCA Qualification.

How to apply?

Complete your application form:

  • Download the application form below and ensure you complete all the fields, especially your contact details as this will allow us to contact you if we have any questions. 
  • Indicate the correct subjects and dates for the examination, sign the application and attach one passport sized photograph.
  • Changing your exam dates is not permitted, so it is important that you select the correct date and month for your examination.
  • Please ensure that your registration with ACCA is confirmed, as failure to register prior to submitting your application will result in forfeiture of your exam fee.

Submit your application form:

  • Submit your completed application form to the British Council Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Sharjah.
  • Please ensure you retain your oriinal receipt as you will be required to present it on the day of the exam.

Process your application and confirm entry:

  • Once we have received your application, it will be processed as quickly as possible.
  • You will receive a text message or an email from the British Council confirming your examination date within two working days of making the payment. If there is no availability for your preferred examination date, we will offer you an alternative date and notify you by email and /or text message.

Exam timings:

The computer based exams last for 2 hours and you will be allocated a slot in one of the following sessions.

Please report to the exam venue at least 15 minutes before the start of the exam.

Payment locations:

You can pay for the exam at any of our centres in the UAE. 

Please ensure you retain your original receipt as you will be required to present it on the day of the exam.

Results, refunds and required documents.

Results:

Results are available immediately after the examination has been completed.

Refunds:

All examination fees paid are non-refundable. Refunds will not be issued for incorrect choice of examination or subject.

We will only consider applications for refunds made on the following grounds:

  • Medical – hospital admission or serious injury 
  • Loss or bereavement – death of parents, guardian, brother/sister or child 
  • Hardship/trauma – victim of crime, victim of traffic accident 

Applications for refund must be made at least 2 days before the exam date, addressed to the Examinations Services Manager. A 25% administration fee is applicable on all refunds of the exam.

Required documents on the day of the exam:

Candidates are required to present the following documents in order to sit the examination:

  • ACCA membership card
  • Emirates ID card or Passport

Failure to present valid ID documentation will result in the candidate not being allowed to sit the examination.

Failure to attend:

If you do not attend the examination for any reason other than the ones mentioned above, you will lose the fee that you have paid to the British Council. If you are unable to attend due to sickness, you must call the British Council immediately and present a note from a medical practitioner in order to avoid forfeiting the fees you have paid.
